Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed (Super Trailer)
Watch this! Keep an open mind and think about what Ben Stein is talking about. I can't wait for this movie to come out!It really opens up a whole can of worms when it comes to neo-darwinism and intelligent design.
I don't know, Franz. I believe the spark of God exists in all people and all of creation, but I'm not willing to discount the work of Darwin, Copernicus, Newton, Mendel, and the other visionaries who risked their livelihoods and lives to learn and write about their insights into how the Universe works.
Knowing that a loving God supports me, while learning how the Universe works on a cellular level are not activities I view as mutually exclusive. God gives me life and inspiration, but also a critical and discerning mind that is capable of knowledge.
I'm guessing that these scientists were motivated beyond the normal impulse of humankind to discover truths that would benefit us all. They sacrificed their lives, with no promise of success, to uncover truths about the universe that would serve generations in the future. They were DIVINELY inspired to do so.
Life as we know it is a miracle. Whether we side with religion or science really has no bearing. There is only gratitude and understanding.
I'm not sure what you are objecting to. This video trailer in no way is discounting the works of Darwin, Copernicuc, Newton, Mendel and others. It is however questioning the dogmatic assumption that Darwinism is scientific and true.
Not sure what you are objecting to Aaron! In no way am I saying (or the video) to leave your mind at the door and mindlessly accept things. It is in fact telling us to engage our minds and ask questions.
I believe in God and believe in a lot of things you just said. If you believe that we are made in the image of God that of course we have the ability to know God given knowledge. My debate is with people that say their is no God and that we just randomly evolved from a mud puddle when lightening struck it!
No where in life or in the world do we ever see intelligent design without an intelligent designer/ Where there is a design their must be a designer. Do you agree?
Well, let me explain. First time I watched this video, it stopped working after 2 minutes. In that time, Ben Stein suggested that modern scientists believe: * life came about through "pure, dumb fate and chance," * people have "no spark of the divine," * and that life is just "mud, animated by lightning."
I assumed he was going to continue this defensive posture and straw man argument throughout the trailer. My bad.
He doesn't do that, but instead suggests that qualified scientists using legitimate scientific methods are asking scientific questions but being black-listed by their colleagues.
He doesn't say what questions they're asking, what methods they're using or how they're hoping to improve scientific knowledge, so I can't say whether they are being treated unfairly or not. I wish he would have provided a glimpse into what these people are studying.
Anyway, it should be a good movie, and I should have waited to see the entire trailer before commenting.
Thanks for highlight it, though. I'll be looking forward to it.
