This week had been unbelievably busy. Saw 10 clients today and will see 9 tomorrow. Why? I am leaving on a cruise this weekend so am trying to get everyone in before we leave. Have not trained since last week with weights due to my intense schedule and my SORE body from sprinting. The last sprint session I did worked me BIG TIME! What it really means is that I am finally starting to sprint fast. Every time I run faster in practive it SMOKES my nervous system and it takes me longer to recover. But today I felt unusually strong with the snatch. So I powered in a quick workout before my KB classe at 6pm.
SNATCHES
40kg 3/3 5/5 5/5 felt Great = 26 reps
24kg 30/30 = 60 reps
That was enough!!!! I for sure feel better with less frequent workouts, just works for me better. So there goes my 4 days of weight training per week :) 3 days is plenty.

nice freakin snatches brother! three days aweek is plenty for us old guys, lol!
Wow, you have become a snatching machine! Have a great time on your cruise, and enjoy the cuisine :)
Thanks Guys. Rif, you are correct, the older you get and the more life expeience you get, it's all about quality. I would rather train with higer intensity, just less often. I do something every day teaching exercises clients, so it's not like I'm doing nothing. But the 2 days on the tracj plus the 4 workouts I wanted to do is just too much!
Pete, I'm not sure if I'm a snatching machine yet, but certainly working on it. I here you are quite the tamer of the BEAST noew :)
Off to the cruise tomorrow.......:)
LOL.....Beast tamer? No....I just got in the cage with it :)
I'm not sure I agree franz. I do better it seems with more volume, training submaximally and only occasionally pushing the intenisty button and I'm REALLY old, lol.
the fact that I snatched the 32 kg so easily and did decent volume with the 28 after not snatching anything over the 24 kg for almost a year convinces me even more.
less weight, move it faster= heavy weight.plus, you must have the volume to support more than one max attempt, as well.
of course it is different for everyone, so who knows. PLUS how you like to train makes a big difference. have fun on the cruise.
Rif,
I am definitely more of an intensity guy. The challenge is that if I focus just on intensity, I burn out, get injured, or have crap endurance. I realize the importance of volume and heaven knows I need it. Need to find that balance between volume and intensity. It seems that about once every ten days I have this huge surge of strength and I turn into a BEAST lol. Seriously, I get stronger off more intensity and less training frequency. But ultimately it will be my body that decides how effective my training is.
Cruise should be fun. Thanks!
ok dude, get some freakin posts on here!vacations over.
You are right :)
lol, thanks.I have blog addictions youknow.
